Senior Java Backend Engineer

Your Key Responsibilities

You will design, develop, and maintain backend solutions that support various aspects of our data infrastructure. Taking ownership of one or more data projects, you’ll collaborate with fellow engineers to integrate them effectively. Your primary focus will include:

• Backend Development – Creating, maintaining, and optimizing Java-based backend applications for performance, security, and scalability
• System Architecture – Designing backend structures that align with business objectives and long-term scalability
• Cross-Team Collaboration – Working closely with Frontend and Data Science teams to ensure smooth system integration
• Code Quality & Best Practices – Driving engineering excellence by enforcing testing, monitoring, and clean coding principles within a microservices environment
• Project Leadership – Overseeing backend projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality execution and delivery

What You Bring

• Technical Skills – 5+ years of experience in Backend Engineering, with at least 3 years working with Java and Spring framework
• Database Knowledge – Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and familiarity with document-based databases
• Cloud & DevOps Expertise – Proficiency in cloud platforms like Google Cloud (or AWS), as well as tools such as Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub
• Soft Skills – Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and a proactive mindset
• Bonus Skills – Experience with Elasticsearch, API development, inter-service communication, or monitoring tools like Datadog is a plus
• Language – Fluent English (C1 or higher)
